Lichtfabriek Haarlem

This lively event location is not called ‘The Light Factory’ for nothing: once it was the main source of electricity for Haarlem and surrounding areas.

Nowadays, this multifunctional event venue reveals its former history with 1,200 square meters of industrial ambience.
De Lichtfabriek was built between 1896 and 1902. After the discovery of natural gas resources in the sixties, the factory was shut down. Parts were demolished, but the turbine room, the oil house and the power station remained. And that’s a good thing, because these names now refer to the excellent event rooms located here today, suitable for meetings, gatherings and celebrations any group between 6 and 1,200 people. The pleasant thing about De Lichtfabriek is that these rooms can be connected and separated, creating the right space for a whole range of special events, such as conferences, sample sales, fashion shows, tv and movie recordings, dinners, corporate parties, theatre plays, (business) fairs, product presentations, and even dance parties and concerts.

Turbinehal (‘Turbine room’)
The Turbinehal is the ‘imperial hall’ of De Lichtfabriek, large and with sublime interior details such as the original portal crane, the green glazed tiles and the wooden ceiling. The Turbinehal serves multiple purposes, as it can be organised precisely as you like. Here you can experience the value that such a historic environment adds to your event.

Oliehuis (‘Oil house’)
The Oliehuis is the crown jewel of De Lichtfabriek, presented as an extraordinarily stylish hall. When the Oliehuis still served as part of the power station, this was the room for the generators that provided electricity to the residents of Haarlem.

Energiehuis (‘Power station’)
The Energiehuis has the appearance of a small castle, with its medieval dormers and beautiful brickwork. The interior room has an especially intimate and social ambience, partly due to its dimensions, which makes the Energiehuis perfect for small to middle-sized groups.
