Anyone who travels to Haarlem by train has a beautiful view of the city while passing the bridge over the Spaarne. Thanks to the very frequent train connection between Haarlem and surrounding large cities (every 10-15 minutes) and fast bus connections to / from Amsterdam, Leiden and Schiphol, Haarlem is easily accessible by public transport.
Every Friday and Saturday night an extra intercity is scheduled from Amsterdam to Haarlem at 02.50 am and 03.50 am. The last intercity trains from Haarlem to Amsterdam depart on Friday and Saturday night at 01:58 and 03:15.
Those traveling to Haarlem by car benefit from various improvements to the motorways in the region. Travel time to Haarlem and traffic flow on the roads have improved considerably due to the renovation of the Velsertunnel and the diversion of the A9 motorway at Badhoevedorp. Traffic from the highways runs smoothly into the city via the A200, N205 and N208 to one of the many parking options in the center.

On Sundays and certain holidays you can park for free on the street in Haarlem. Paid parking applies on the other days. Please note that there is little street parking in the center. Are you coming to the center by bike? Then you can park your bicycle for free during the day in one of the guarded and covered bicycle sheds on the Botermarkt, Smedestraat or Tempelierstraat. It does not matter if you arrive in Haarlem by train, bus or with your own transport, the last part will be covered by foot.
